Global Finance & Compliance Associate

About the Role

We are seeking a highly autonomous Global Finance & Compliance Associate to establish and lead the entire finance and compliance function across our US, India, and France entities. This pivotal role involves working directly with founders and senior leadership to build the financial infrastructure from the ground up, ensuring robust global operations and strategic financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage global tax compliance, including VAT, GST, TDS, corporate tax filings, and cross-border withholding obligations.
• Coordinate with external tax consultants and auditors to ensure all filings are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
• Ensure MCA/ROC compliance - annual returns, financial statement filings, and any other statutory obligations for the India subsidiary.
• Maintain transfer pricing documentation for intercompany arrangements across the US, India, and France entities.
• Administer the stock program - managing grant letters, vesting schedules, etc.
• Supervise payroll processing and ensure statutory compliance across PF, ESIC, gratuity, and professional tax.
• Help with salary structuring for new hires and increments, working closely with founders and leadership.
• Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements - P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow - ensuring they are clean, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.
• Own the month-end and year-end closing cycles, including reconciliations, general ledger management, and MIS reporting.
• Build and enforce internal controls - approval workflows, expense policies, and vendor payment processes - to ensure financial integrity across the organization.
• Own accounts payable, vendor invoicing, and intercompany billing across all entities.
• Support financial due diligence processes for investor conversations, audits, and fundraising activities.
• Handle routine legal, compliance, and administrative tasks in coordination with external partners and the leadership team.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.
• 4-7 years of post-qualification experience, ideally combining Big4/mid-tier CA firm and VC-backed startup environments.
• Proven experience managing compliance for an Indian subsidiary of a US entity.
• Deep understanding of global tax obligations (GST, TDS, US corporate tax, EU VAT) and experience coordinating with local advisors.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently, proactively identify compliance deadlines, and anticipate regulatory changes.
